Senior Enterprise Account Manager (Government & PSU)

The Opportunity
Nutanix is looking for an Account Manager for the Government vertical in Delhi India. As an Account Manager, you are responsible for selling Nutanix Products and Solutions through Channel Partners and interacting directly with Government customers in India, especially the Central & State Government Departments. You will also be working closely with a Sales Engineer in the territory. Essential to succeed in this role is a good understanding of the Govt segment, partners, consultants and the beat of business. This role requires the ability to break in and develop new accounts in State Govt & Ministries and to expand in your assigned accounts. Nutanix provides unrivaled support and tools from the Engineering, Marketing, and Product Development departments for you to leverage to exceed sales performance goals. In this position you would be working very closely with the partners and extended ecosystem of complimentary OEM's, who will have a large amount of influence on sales team decisions and initiatives at customer premise owing to the complex nature of projects.
About the Team
You will be part of a high-performance Governement Sector Sales team focused on driving strategic transformation across India’s leading public sector banks and insurance institutions.
The team operates in a collaborative, execution-driven culture grounded in Nutanix values Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart. You will work closely with Sales Engineering, Partner Ecosystem, and senior leadership to drive impact across complex, multi-stakeholder BFSI programs.
Your Role
We are seeking a high-performing Senior Account Manager for India’s North Government Sector with primary responsibility for acquiring, managing, and expanding strategic relationships across key institutions including State and Central Governments.
In this role, you will drive Nutanix’s growth across mission-critical banking and insurance transformation programs by positioning Private Cloud, Hybrid Multi-Cloud, Kubernetes, Virtualization, AI, and enterprise infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with channel partners, OEM ecosystem, system integrators, consultants, and internal technical teams to influence large-scale digital banking and insurance modernization initiatives.
You will play a critical role in identifying new opportunities, expanding existing banking relationships, and accelerating core banking transformation, cloud adoption, and digital customer experience initiatives across North India’s public sector financial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, acquire, and grow strategic relationships across Central & State Government Institutions.
- Own and drive consistent Quarter-on-Quarter (QoQ) revenue growth across assigned North Public Sector Banking and Insurance accounts
- Drive account acquisition and expansion through consultative and value-based selling across Private Cloud, Hybrid Multi-Cloud, Kubernetes, Virtualization, AI, and enterprise infrastructure solutions
- Identify and develop new opportunities across banking divisions, zonal offices, insurance regions, digital banking units, and subsidiaries
- Work closely with channel partners, OEMs, system integrators, and consultants to build influence and pipeline within complex BFSI environments
- Strong relationships with Tier-1 System Integrators such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, LTI Mindtree (LTI), and LTTS, with proven prior experience working within these ecosystems is mandatory
- Develop and strengthen deep ecosystem relationships with State/Central Government & technology partners to influence transformation programs and accelerate deal cycles
- Lead discussions with senior stakeholders including MDs, EDs, DMDs, CIOs, CTOs, CGMs, and senior IT leadership teams
- Proactively engage in pre-RFP, EOI, RFI, and large Infrastructure transformation initiatives to position Nutanix solutions early at project inception, influence technical and commercial specifications, and ensure strong positioning in formal RFP processes. Prior experience in shaping BFSI RFPs is mandatory
- Must have experience working with customers and partners on RFPs, RFIs, and large BFSI tenders to effectively participate and win opportunities
- Build strong pipeline coverage and ensure accurate forecasting using CRM tools (SFDC & AVISO)
- Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Partner teams to deliver customer-centric transformation solutions
- Leverage references, success stories, and outcomes to strengthen positioning and accelerate closures
- Maintain strong governance on pipeline hygiene, forecast accuracy, and execution discipline across long sales cycles
What You Will Bring
- 15+ years of experience in Central/State/PSU
- Proven track record of working with Central & state Government Institutions
- Strong understanding of Government IT ecosystems including digital platforms, cloud, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure
- Experience in selling Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Virtualization, Kubernetes, AI, and enterprise infrastructure solutions
- Strong consultative and solution-selling experience in complex, multi-stakeholder BFSI environments
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders including MDs, EDs, CIOs, CTOs, CGMs, and board-level IT leadership teams
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience using CRM tools (SFDC or equivalent) with strong forecasting discipline
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Proven history of exceeding sales targets in Government Sector.

Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
